Wire ropes are used in many different applications, and those which do not involve lifting will commonly utilise wire rope grips. A thimble should be used inside the loop to maintain shape and protect from abrasion. The recommended minimum number of grips and the recommended grip spacing are typically determined by the wire rope diameter.
