Ignition Lanyard is designed with bright red color for optimal high visibility within marine environments. It fits Johnson/Evinrude with 1996 – up models. When the lanyard is pulled down, it kills the ignition, and engine power on the ship will disconnect. The signal is sent to the engine to cut the ignition system to turn off the engine. In some other cases, the lanyard is in reverse and the on position when the lanyard is hooked up.
