Description
Its primary function is to control the coolant flow and house the thermostats accurately. These covers have a weep hole a few millimeters in diameter, but it drains any coolant leakage from a bad seal. Additionally, they link the engine and the upper radiator linehousing for the water pump used in Mercury Outboard applications. Routine maintenance is necessary to prevent the engine from overheating due to insufficient cooling or the transmission of broken impeller components.
