Description

The needle and seat have to control fuel flow into the fuel bowl. It regulates the level of fuel in the carburetor’s fuel bowl. The seat assembly, which is essentially a screw-in brass bolt bored to take the shape of the rubber-tipped tipped needle, also works with the needle valve. Malfunctioning needles and seats lead to flooding due to the uncontrolled flow. It will allow overflowing the cylinders, and the excess will wash the oil off the cylinder walls and wind up in the crankcase. The contaminated oil will damage the engine bearings.
