Oil control rings are installed to scrape excess oil off the walls. A three-piece oil control ring in the bottom ring position distinguishes pistons. They virtually never have needle bearings between the wrist pin and connecting rod and almost always have a flat or dished top (like two-stroke engines). Hypereutectic pistons are fully machined.

The set includes rings, a pin, and two retainers.
