FOR ALL I/ (118-1213) stops engine oil and coolant from leaking out by sealing the timing cover to the engine block, the oil pan, and, in some situations, to the engine’s cylinder head(s) and valve covers. The seal timing cover keeps engine oil and coolant in a while, withstanding the forces of the two surfaces expanding, contracting, warping, and rubbing. In some installations, the oil pump may be located inside the timing cover, necessitating the use of a gasket to seal high-pressure oil as well. The 118-1213 seal timing cover set incorporates application-specific technology like PermaDryPlus or Blue Stripe to assist a good seal.
