The SYNTHETIC BLEND Mercury’R Stern Drive 5 Quart (18-9440-4) is Blended 4-cycle oil with superior synthetic and mineral-based stock. Superior additives intended to withstand the stresses that sterndrive and inboard engines face. Protection against corrosion that is superior. Internal engine component wear is reduced by using advanced lubrication. It has excellent wear resistance and friction reduction. The thermal breakdown is prevented at high RPMs, harsh temperatures, and loads. Extensively tested to ensure exceptional performance. API-SL/FC-W NMMA Certified. The energy loses through combustion, and the engine temperature rises due to friction between mechanical parts. Part lubrication given by the engine oil helps discharge the heat through the lubrication circuit. It works in conjunction with the coolant, which only cools a part of the engine.
